GALLERY STATEMENT
Sherin Najjar, Berlin opened in February 2010. The ground floor space was build by the British architect David Chipperfield and is directly located at the Potsdamer Platz in the centre of the gallery quarter Berlin-Tiergarten. The gallery is surrounded by Sony Center Tower, Martin Gropius Bau and Neue Nationalgalerie.
The gallery is managed by its owner Sherin Najjar and focuses on a unique program of emerging and established artists with a conceptual approach. The gallery is not media specific and has exhibited film works, works on paper, painting, wall drawings, photography, installation and sculpture since its opening. Solo exhibitions and thematic group shows as well as collaborations with international galleries, curators and institutions shape the profile of the gallery.
The artists represented have been participated in solo and major group exhibitions such as Venice Biennial, Whitney Biennial and Sydney Biennial and in worldwide museum shows such as MoMA/P.S.1 New York, Rubin Museum of Art New York, Los Angeles Museum of Contemporary Art, Tel Aviv Museum of Art, Gemaeldegalerie - National Museum Berlin and Deutsches Museum Bonn.
